Seems like it’s been in the works for years now, but Nike Sportswear’s latest Wheat pack finally finds its way to stores this week, and today we get a closer look at one of its headliners: the Nike Air Max 95 Wheat.
The perfect mix of classic sporty design and fall-and-winter fashion, the shoe layers rich, buttery tan nubuck onto its beloved upper, offering a bit of protection from the elements as well as sleek good looks for days. Taupe through the midsole complements, while delivering a bit more color-fastness than would the usual white. And a gum brown outsole is . . . well, as perfect as a gum brown outsole always is.
Visible full-length Max Air has been a hallmark on Nike Running’s flagship Air Max line for years now. It’s practically synonymous with the annual series. And on at least a few colorways of the forthcoming Air Nike Air Max 90 Homme Max 2016, it’s being eschewed entirely.
While the shoe hasn’t technically launched yet, you’ve gotten plenty of looks at the Air Max 2016 to date; its light, breathable Engineered Mesh upper; its reinforcing Flywire eyelets; its full-length Max Air cushioning that, usually, is visible. But on two colorways, evidenced here by a wildly attractive gradient blue edition, Nike Roshe Run Womens that Max Air midsole is covered with a thin silver midsole.
