Embracing the call for a return to solid-colored Foamposites that has permeated the sneaker-buying public the last year or so, the shoe’s upper simply pairs black accents and inner-bootie with a stunning metallic gold molded-foam construction. The result is classic Foamposite — beautifully cohesive, stunning in palette, yet with the focus as much on design as colors. Below, an icy outsole contrasts, as it always Adidas Superstar Femme Rouge should.

We’ve always felt that the Air Max Thea is wildly underrated. A shoe that combines sporty, throwback sneaker aesthetics with Nike’s signature performance technology, accomplishing a light, breathable, comfortable silhouette. What’s not to like? For years we’ve advocated for men’s-sized edition. While that’s still unlikely, here’s the next best thing: the Nike Air Max Transit.

It’s not exactly the Thea, but the familial resemblance is undeniable. Sleek and sporty, the shoe’s upper is predominantly no-sew, as a mesh toe gives way to Hyperfuse construction at the forefoot, side-panel and Swoosh, before alternating back to mesh at the collar and tongue. And then a semblance of traditional sneaker sensibility: a perforated leather heel-cap is attached with standard Nike Lunar Force 1 Duckboot Womens stitching.

Details are still developing, but the pictured Nike Air Max Transit Black/Grey, along with the rest of the initial crop of colorways, ought to be widely available in early-2015.
