LUSAKA Authentic Malcom Brown Jersey , July 3 (Xinhua) -- The Zambian government plans to put up electrified wire fences in game management areas prone to human- animal conflict, the Times of Zambia reported on Wednesday.
Tourism and Arts Minister Sylvia Masebo said the exercise would soon start in one game management area in Luangwa district in Lusaka Province before spreading to other areas to avoid loss of lives and destruction of fields.
She said the government was treating the problem of human- animal conflict seriously because of its implications on national development.
The human-animal conflict, which has been prevalent in Zambia, especially among communities living near game management areas or those living near rivers, has seen destruction to crops while some villagers have been killed or maimed in the process.
